What is XBRL Singapore requirement for businesses?
XBRL format is a mandatory requirement for financial reporting in Singapore. All incorporated companies, unless exempt, must file their financial statements with ACRA in XBRL format. To determine compliance requirements, companies must ascertain if they qualify for full XBRL, Simplified XBRL, or PDF reports.
What are Full XBRL and XBRL Simplified?
In Singapore, not all companies are required to submit a full set of XBRL.
For some, a Simplified XBRL with a PDF of the financial statements presented at the AGM suffices. ACRA mandates 120 data elements for Simplified XBRL, while a complete set includes financial position, profit/loss, equity changes, cash flow, and notes/comparative information.
