Brunner APAC finds Sleek perfect for newly incorporated companies
5 minute read
Brunner is a premium European furniture manufacturer that specialises in workplace, care and public spaces.
Its Asia Pacific division is a joint-venture of the Brunner Group in Germany, and is led by Jean Paul de la Haye, managing director of Brunner Asia Pacific (APAC).
“This (Brunner) is the brand we want to grow and grow with”
Interestingly enough, Jean Paul and business partner, Grant Humphreys, had been working for a competitor brand within the same industry and region. “We had heard of Brunner for a while and always viewed [them] as potential competition,” says Jean Paul.
Wanting to challenge themselves and pursue something as a team, Jean Paul and Grant struck conversation with the founder of Brunners – the Brunner family themselves – and it was through these talks that inspired the duo to pursue the development of this brand.
“Service is almost more important than the product itself”
In what differentiates themselves from other manufacturers in the industry, Jean Paul describes Brunner APAC as being service-driven and customer-centric. “We strive to make every project a success for all stakeholders involved – from client, to interior designers, to project manager and everyone else onboard,” says Jean Paul.
“We feel well looked after and it’s perfect for companies starting up”
Sleek was recommended by a friend of Jean Paul’s who had just started his own business. “We’re so happy that he recommended Sleek to us,” elaborates Jean Paul. “With Sleek, we felt taken care of and we enjoy the partnerships and softwares used by Sleek such as Xero”.
“It’s also perfect for businesses starting up because it supports Operations & Finance Managers in their bookkeeping and helps to consolidate several Profit & Loss statements (P&L) into one,” he concludes.
“What has been more impressive about Sleek?”
“The prompt response and professional advice that we always get from the Sleek team,” says Jean Paul who recommends small-sized business or start-up companies to take up Sleek’s services.
“Especially when the team doesn’t have a Controller or Finance Manager and needs good support,” he adds.
“Exciting times ahead”
Jean Paul recounts the recent wins secured by Brunner APAC including impressive projects situated in Hong Kong, Singapore and Jakarta as well as some large-scale projects through their own distribution networks in China, Australia and Taiwan.
In giving us a little preview to what’s next for Brunner APAC, “We are currently looking into opening our Australian business next, with Japan close in the works,” says Jean Paul.
