What founders ask before registering a company in Singapore

What do I need to register a company in Singapore?

You need at least one shareholder, one director who is ordinarily resident in Singapore, a company secretary appointed within six months, a registered local address and a paid-up capital of at least S$1. Sleek handles the filing, the constitution and the corporate secretary appointment for you.

How long does incorporation take?

Once your identity verification is complete and your documents are signed, ACRA registration is usually done within a few business days. In some cases it has been completed in under an hour after KYC, depending on your documents.

Is a company secretary really mandatory?

Yes. Under the Singapore Companies Act, every company must appoint a qualified company secretary within six months of incorporation. The Founder Launch Kit includes full-year corporate secretary support, so this is handled from the start.

Do I need to visit Singapore to register?

No. The entire process, including identity verification, is completed online. You upload your passport and proof of address and complete a short video verification.

Can I use my home address as the registered address?

Often yes, under the Home Office Scheme, but you usually need approval first. HDB flat owners apply to HDB and private-property owners apply to the URA. Because ACRA records are publicly searchable, many founders add a registered office address to keep their home address private.
