Biosensor development company, Biopsin partners with Sleek

When setting up a business, you need to partner up with a company that you can trust. Read on to discover Biopsin’s journey.
The power of cutting-edge techniques
“Our technology only takes minutes to produce results and does not compromise on the accuracy & limit of detection. This means companies can ensure the microbial quality before sending out the products and avoid recalls and outbreaks.”
Incorporated in Singapore in October 2018, Biopsin is developing a biosensor device for rapid and accurate detection of pathogens in F&B and FMCG products.
Sheetal Sinha, cofounder of Biopsin, explains, “The conventional testing method take 5-10 days to get the results and companies have no choice but to send out the products even before receiving the results to avoid the products from expiring.”
Hence every once in a while, a microbially contaminated product is consumed which may lead to consumers falling ill and can even cause a disease outbreak. In such situations, the product has to be recalled and disposed and there is a significant damage to the brand. To prevent such outcomes, Biopsin offers a solution for industries for them to quickly detect pathogens in their products.
Sheetal adds, “Our technology only takes minutes to produce results and does not compromise on the accuracy & limit of detection. This means companies can ensure the microbial quality before sending out the products and avoid recalls and outbreaks.”
Biopsin got funded by two startup incubators. The first was Entrepreneur First (EF) where entrepreneurs come together to share their ideas and begin their entrepreneurship journey. The second incubator that helped Biopsin was HAX Accelerator. HAX is helping with building the hardware component of the product.
Finding a trusted partner
When asked about how she first heard about Sleek’s services, Sheetal said, “My cofounder and I heard about Sleek through EF. Many other startups were using Sleek’s services as well so we decided to choose Sleek as our service provider.”
Sheetal happily shared her experience with Sleek saying, “It has been amazing so far. We can focus on our product development and business and not worry about paperwork because Sleek handles it all for us.”
When asked about the one thing that they were most impressed with, Sheetal said, “Company incorporation! There were so many documents during that time, there was no order and so many people had to sign the documents which became very confusing. Luckily Sleek handled our entire incorporation process, so we did not have to pause our work to get the compliance side of things sorted.”
Sheetal adds, “Learning the regulatory requirements and incorporation process can be a big hassle for most founders and deviates focus from the actual problem they are solving, so this is where Sleek took care of us.” Besides incorporation, Biopsin also took company secretary and nominee director services with Sleek.
When asked about recommending Sleek’s services, Sheetal adds, “I will definitely recommend Sleek to anyone who wants to incorporate especially if they are a startup. Sleek understands the struggles that a startup can face in terms of sorting out paperwork etc, and this is when startup founders need a trusted partner.”

Biopsin is soon going to conduct pilot tests on their prototype with external F&B and FMCG partners, while they continue to develop the commercial version of the product in parallel. Sheetal adds, “Currently, we are at the prototype stage and after the pilots we would incorporate the suggestions from our partners in the final product and then do the launch!”.
