A Conversation with Aiden Van Nielen, Founder of Nielen Video Production
Meet Aiden Van Nielen, the founder of Nielen Video Production. He is the driving force behind Nielen Video Production, creating videos that bring stories to life in a fun and special way. In this exclusive interview with Aiden, we get into his journey of launching a video production business as a solopreneur.

Could you tell us a bit about your business?
Aiden: Nielen Video Production is a professional video production company based in Adelaide. We specialise in creating captivating brand stories, training videos, event highlights, customer testimonials and a variety of other media productions to help businesses showcase their products and services to the world.
What was your inspiration to take the leap and start Nielen Video Production?
Aiden: As someone who has always been drawn to creative and diverse work, I quickly became bored with the monotony of my full-time job doing video production. I took a leap of faith and decided to start my own business, which has allowed me to work with a diverse range of clients and take on exciting projects that challenge me to constantly improve my craft.
Can you share anything you wish you knew before starting Nielen Video Production?
Aiden: I wish I had known earlier about the amount of time and effort required for administrative tasks like email correspondence and managing project quotes and proposals. In video production, a lot of work goes into pre-production preparation, which can often take up more time and resources than the actual shoot.
How do you stay inspired and ahead of the curve in your industry?
Aiden: I stay motivated and inspired by keeping up with the latest trends and techniques in video production. I constantly review the work of other professionals in the industry to stay up-to-date with new tools and technology and to learn new skills that can help me produce even better videos for my clients. Staying ahead of the curve for most video production companies is about buying the newest and most expensive camera gear, for me I like to focus on the customer experience, making every single step of the video production process seamless and enjoyable.
What advice would you give to other business owners about managing certain aspects of their business?
Aiden: For entrepreneurs starting their own business, I would suggest learning all aspects of the business in the early stages, even if it means doing everything yourself in the beginning. This is important to understand the processes as well as the legal aspects of your business. But as your business grows, it is important to outsource certain tasks to professionals to maximise efficiency and productivity.
