What makes our services different from just getting your tax done?

A tax return is one date on the calendar. Running a small business is the other 364 days: keeping the books current, lodging BAS on time, paying staff, and knowing where your cash sits before a bill lands. Our service covers that whole operating cycle with one dedicated accountant, so your numbers are ready when tax time comes rather than scrambled together at the last minute.

Behind on your BAS? Here is how catch-up works

Plenty of owners come to us a few lodgments behind, and that is fixable. We will be straight with you about how it runs.
What happens What it means for you
We review your outstanding lodgments You get a clear picture of what is overdue across BAS, IAS and tax returns before anything is committed.
Catch-up work is scoped and quoted separately Overdue bookkeeping sits outside the fixed monthly fee, so we quote it up front and you approve before we start.
We lodge and then set a routine Once you are current, your monthly plan keeps you that way, so the backlog does not build again.
Penalties stay with the ATO We cannot promise the ATO will remit penalties, as remission is at their discretion, but getting compliant quickly is the best position to be in.

Essential guides for small businesses in Australia

FAQs on small business accountants

How much does a small business accountant cost in Australia?

Sleek plans for companies start from A$275/month on the Starter plan for businesses with annual revenue under A$250k, scaling with your revenue. That fixed fee covers bookkeeping, BAS and your company tax return. Catch-up work on overdue books is quoted separately. Prices may vary with current promotions, so check the latest on the pricing page.

What is included with a fixed-fee accountant?

Your plan includes quarterly or monthly bookkeeping and reconciliations, BAS and IAS lodgments, your company tax return, and Xero plus Dext for receipts. You also get a dedicated accountant who tracks your ATO and ASIC deadlines. The Pro plan adds monthly reporting, tax planning and two personal tax returns.

How do I switch accountants without disrupting my business?

With your authority, we request your files and Xero data from your current accountant and take over lodgments with no gap in compliance. You keep trading while we manage the handover. Most owners switch because of poor communication or unpredictable bills, and the transfer itself usually takes a few days.

I am behind on my BAS. Can you help me catch up?

Yes. We first review every outstanding lodgment so you know exactly what is overdue. Catch-up bookkeeping sits outside the fixed monthly fee, so we scope and quote it before starting. Once you are current, your monthly plan keeps you compliant. Penalty remission, though, is always at the ATO’s discretion.

Do you use Xero or QuickBooks?

We run Australian small business accounts on Xero, paired with Dext for receipt capture, and the Xero subscription is included in your plan. Xero gives you real-time bank feeds and a clear view of cash flow. We do not set clients up on QuickBooks as standard, since our team and processes are built around Xero.

Is bookkeeping included, or is that billed separately?

Bookkeeping is built into every plan, not charged on top. Your dedicated accountant runs quarterly reconciliations on the Starter plan or monthly on Pro, using Xero with Dext for receipts. That means your accounts stay current all year, so your BAS and tax return are straightforward rather than a year-end scramble. If you only want the books kept, see bookkeeping services.

I have never had an accountant before. What do I actually need?

Most small businesses need the same things handled month to month: bookkeeping kept current, BAS and GST lodged on time, and someone tracking your ATO and ASIC deadlines. Your plan covers all of that with a dedicated accountant. If your main worry is purely getting a return lodged rather than ongoing books, a tax-only service may suit you better. Not sure where you sit? Start with a quick call and we will tell you exactly what applies.
