Could you tell us a bit about your business?
Dalel: We work with businesses in Australia (and all over the world!) to build lead generation systems that help them stress less about where their next customers or jobs are coming from – We make businesses easier to find online by developing beautiful Search Engine Optimised (SEO) Websites that generate leads. In other words – helping businesses become more “Googlable” which in turn keeps them busy with leads and job inquiries!
What was your inspiration to take the leap and start Dalel Sassine Digital?
Dalel: I wanted to make a real difference in the world! Digital marketing started as a side hustle while I was working full time. But once I saw the huge impact I could have on other businesses, helping them grow and thrive, I knew I had to dive in full-time!
Can you share anything you wish you knew before starting Dalel Sassine Digital?
Dalel: I have a few things….can I share them all?
- Explore your options: Don’t feel pressured to jump straight into university. Take some time to travel, volunteer, or work to discover your interests and passions.
- Find your accounting tribe: Building a solid team of accountants early on can save you a world of stress (and tax headaches!) later.
- Taxes are no joke: Seriously, having a good understanding of your finances can make a huge difference. Consider getting professional help to navigate the complexities of tax filing.
How do you stay inspired and ahead of the curve in your industry?
Dalel: Never. Ever. Stop learning! – The old “Don’t fix what ain’t broke” is such a limiting perspective if you want to be an innovator in your space. Always seek to improve yourself. Utilise constructive criticism from those that have seen success in your space! Keep an eye on your competition.
In Digital Marketing, it’s all about collecting data, problem solving and experimentation. You can’t make an impact offering only “cookie cutter solutions” – What works for one client won’t always work for the next!
What advice would you give to other business owners about managing certain aspects of their business?
Dalel: Don’t be afraid to grow your team. It’s totally fine not to be a jack-of-all-trades. Do what you’re great at, and get awesome people to handle the rest. There just aren’t enough hours in the day to do it all on your own.
What’s your superpower as an entrepreneur?
Dalel: Perseverance & Passion – Never, ever view a failure as a “failure” or a missed opportunity. Everything you don’t succeed at, you GAIN a learning experience. Ask yourself, “what went wrong here? How can I improve on this next time?” – As soon as you give up, you FAIL
