Could you tell us a bit about yourself?
Federico: I’m a software engineer working as a consultant, primarily for companies in Asia. My main responsibility is to develop innovative solutions using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and big data. In this constantly evolving field, a significant aspect of my role involves not only creating these solutions but also explaining the intricacies of AI and demonstrating how it can be practically applied. I apply this expertise directly to companies, helping them navigate and leverage the transformative power of AI and big data in their operations.
What was your inspiration to take the leap and start doing consultancy?
Federico: My inspiration to take the leap into consulting and specialising in AI and big data solutions stemmed from a deep passion for pushing the boundaries of technology and solving complex problems. Additionally, I desired independence in my professional journey, seeking a departure from the routine of going to the same office every day. The prospect of having the flexibility to shape my own schedule and make my time more valuable was a driving force behind my decision. I recognised that by venturing into consulting, I could not only explore the cutting edge of technology but also tailor my work environment to maximise efficiency and impact.
Can you share some things you wish you knew before you started working as a consultant?
Federico: One valuable lesson I’ve learned is the significance of exploring available tax deductions for businesses, which I wish I had known before starting. Understanding the benefits of early consultation with tax experts and delving into the realm of deductions has proven to be a game-changer. It encompasses essentials like tools and working materials, with notable advantages such as deducting business trips. This not only provides financial relief by offsetting travel, accommodation, and meal expenses but also encourages strategic business development.
How do you stay inspired and ahead of the curve in your space?
Federico: Engaging in conversations with individuals in comparable industries and roles allows me to stay current and affirm that I am on the correct path. Additionally, I actively seek out opportunities to attend both online and in-person events. Participating in conferences, seminars, and industry gatherings not only provides valuable insights from thought leaders but also enables me to network with professionals who share similar challenges and aspirations.
