Present in eight countries across Southeast Asia, Roomfilla is a property management company for short term rental market, working with individual owners, resorts and hotels to better market their properties online.
How did Roomfilla start? CEO Stuart Lansdale shared with us, “The company was unofficially as a weekend and evening thing in January 2014. As of August 2015, it became a full-time thing when we were accepted into the JFDI accelerator, which led to the incorporation of the company in Singapore.
When asked more about his journey, Stuart said, “I am a solo founder and for me, I use technology as much as possible to run a super lean operation with limited number of staff.”
Roomfilla is more than just a marketing company. With the expansion of the vacation rental industry, owners/managers needed help with customer services, cleaning and more, hence why Roomfilla provided those services in the most professional way.

Stuart said that as a solo founder and Roomfilla being his first company, a lot of these processes were new to him and he was not sure what had to be done but with the guidance from Sleek, everything was kept compliant such as getting everything together and as mentioned previously, filed on time.
Stuart said, “If you are a startup and your main focus is your business, it is better to get professional help from a company that can help with all the regulatory requirements.”
When asked about the future plans for Roomfilla, Stuart said, “We are looking at ways to put technology front and center with our operations with innovations such as chatbot for vacation rental and affordable property management solution. We are already using them effectively for our own business so next up would be looking to provide such technology to other managers in the future.
